State licensing boards and other licensing organizations have become increasingly sensitive to complaints against professionals of all types. Some claims that once would have been dismissed as obviously lacking in merit are now being taken seriously.

Licensing Boards Take Ethics Violation Claims Seriously

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Board for example, now considers double the number of ethics violation claims as it did just a few years ago. The number of total claims has not risen, but fewer claims are dismissed without a hearing and investigation.
